Travel Information
The Rottingdean and Downs trail is east of Brighton and runs from Woodingdean in the north to Rottingdean at the southern end. There are artists houses in Rottingdean, Ovingdean, Woodingdean and Saltdean. The Falmer Road (B2123) acts as the spine of the trail, giving easy access to all the houses. From Brighton follow the coast road past the Brighton Marina to reach Ovingdean, Rottingdean and Saltdean. If you are coming from the A23, take the Brighton by-pass in the direction of Lewes, and exit at the Sussex University for Falmer and the B2123.By Car
Easy parking is to be found very close to all of the houses.
From Central Brighton the trail is just east of the town centre, usually about 10 – 15min drive, follow the A259 – Marine Drive to Rottingdean, Ovingdean or Saltdean.
From the A23 follow the A27 to Sussex University and Falmer then onto the B2123. The B2123 – Falmer Road runs north / south from Falmer to Rottingdean and all the houses are easily accessible from it.
If you would like to start at the top of the trail come into Woodingdean, via Elm Grove or Bear Road and then the Warren Road.
